Hello Students and Families!

Welcome to 5th Grade Science! I am excited to begin a new year of discovery, exploration, and learning with all of you.

In Science this year, students will use the HMH Science workbook as we investigate topics related to life, earth, physical, and space sciences. Students will participate in hands-on activities, experiments, discussions, and STEM challenges that help bring science to life.

We also have copies of the ScienceSaurus reference book available in the STEM Lab for students to use throughout the year. This resource helps students review important concepts, build vocabulary, and deepen their understanding of science topics.

Science is all about asking questions, exploring new ideas, and discovering how the world works. I encourage students to stay curious, think like scientists, and always be willing to learn something new.

I look forward to an exciting year of learning and growing together in 5th Grade Science!

As of 10/5/26, science homework in Grade 5 will be brought home by each student and require a parent/guardian's signature before being handed in. Work that is handed in will be graded and returned typically within one week.
 
Composition notebook checks will happen at random to assure each student is taking the notes they will need to study from. Failure to see adequate notes ​taken ​during class will result in ​contacting parents/guardians and/or a demerit.
